Cambodia's Funan Techo Canal Project Initiated Without Chinese Directive

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, the first vice president of the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
clarified that China did not influence Cambodia's decision to build the Funan Techo Canal. The project, costing $1.7 billion and employing 10,000 workers, aims to link Kep province with the Bassac River, enhancing trade among ASEAN countries without increasing Cambodia's debt.
